K. Hovnanian Restarts Maple Grove Home Building
K. Hovnanian, one the US’s largest home builders, has found some renewed interest in their Four Seasons at Rush Creek project in Maple Grove. This resort-style community was designed for 55 and older residents. This project was started in 2007 with a planned 134 Maple Grove single family homes. It was hit hard over the last couple years with the falling housing prices. Many of their potential customer we either unable to sell their existing homes or reluctant to take large paper equity discounts to move.
Two new Maple Grove home styles, the Melville and Newton floor plans, and 3 additional models are being built. The Melville is over 2300 square feet of living space with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a 2 car garage. The Newton has over 1900 square feet with 3 bedrooms, up to 3 baths, and a 2 car garage. These new models comply with the US EPA Energy Star standard, which means that they should cost 1/3 less to heat and cool than non-Energy Star homes. The homes are priced in the $270,000s with typical finishes.
This community also features a 13,500 square foot clubhouse and recreation facility which includes: indoor pool, spa, fitness center, billiard room, and craft room. The space is designed to allow for places to relax and chat with friends during the long winter months. Space can also be reserved for events and gatherings. Outside activities include an outdoor pool and spa, tennis courts, and putting green.
According to their website, Four Seasons at Rush Creek is the only place in the Twin Cities that offers country club living for to those 55 years and better.
